Chemical & Process Safety Management > Chapter-3 > Topic- Safe Handling of Chemicals > Sub Topic- Use of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and understanding the terminologies used in MSDS

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) - Use , Terminologies ,Statutory Requirements as per Indian Law  Each person involved in handling dangerous substances or preparations should be provided with written instructions on the properties of the chemicals, including illustrations and pictograms. These safety instructions and information should be collected and stored in a place easily accessible at the workplace. Every chemical container and package in the workplace, no matter how small or big, should have an appropriate, clearly understandable label.  Due to the lack of space, the information on the label on each container or package is often incomplete. It is, therefore, necessary to have access to more detailed information or instructions for the safe use of chemicals.   A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is a document that provides detailed information about a hazardous substance or chemical. It is typically provided by the manufacturer, importer or supplier of the substance, and serves

Environmental Management > Chapter- 5 > Topic- Energy Conservation > Sub-Topic - Key elements of Energy management ISO-50001

Key Elements of Energy Management System ISO 50001:2018  ISO 50001:2018 is an International Standard for Energy Management System (EnMS) containing requirements and guidelines for organizations to follow to optimize energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This ISO standard is based on the Deming Cycle, consisting of four steps: Plan-Do-Check-Act.  ISO 50001 was first released in June 2011 and the second edition of the same was released in August 2018 by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) to improve and standardize Energy Management Systems in any organization, regardless of their size, industry or location. It was originally inspired by ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.  The ISO 50001 standard aims to:  Promote energy management best practices and behaviors. Facilitate communication on the management of energy resources. Provide assistance in prioritizing the implementation of new energy-efficient techn

Construction Safety > Chapter - 2 > Topic- Types of Construction Activity> Sub topic -Working at Height- Precautions on Tower Cranes

Precautions on Tower Cranes Tower crane is mostly used on the construction site. The construction site uses the tower crane at lift steel, concrete, large tools like acetylene torches and generators, and a wide variety of other building materials.  The Tower cranes are mainly used for transporting and lifting capacity from one place to another place. They have to use for mega construction, bridges, and the largest building construction site.    Hazards involved in the use of Tower Cranes.  Electrocution: Tower cranes can come into contact with power lines, which can cause electrocution. Workers should be aware of the location of power lines and should avoid working near them. The crane should also be properly grounded to prevent electrical hazards. Overloading: Tower cranes have a maximum lifting capacity, and exceeding this limit can cause the crane to collapse. Operators should always check the weight of the load and ensure that it is within the crane's rated capacity. Workers

Safety In Engineering Industry >Chapter 6 > Topic- Safety in IT & Electronic Industry > Sub-Topic- Computer Vision Syndrome

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) What is Computer vision Syndrome (CVS) ?  Computer vision syndrome (CVS) is a condition caused by prolonged use of digital devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets. It is characterized by a group of eye and vision-related problems that result from extended screen time.  Viewing a computer or digital screen is different than reading a printed page. Often the letters on the computer or handheld device are not as precise or sharply defined, the level of contrast of the letters to the background is reduced, and the presence of glare and reflections on the screen may make viewing difficult. Symptoms of CVS occur because the visual demands of the task exceed the visual abilities of the individual to comfortably perform them. At greatest risk for developing CVS are those persons who spend two or more continuous hours at a computer or using a digital screen device every day.  Reasons of the Computer Vision Syndrome  Extended periods of screen time Poo
